The eighth day of the Lunar New Year.
As the train doors opened, a gust of air carrying the chill of the night rushed in. Jiang Ning stepped forward, and the view before him suddenly opened up—only for darkness to embrace him.
Night had fallen.
With a backpack slung over one shoulder, Jiang Ning followed the crowd out of the station and onto the broad plaza outside. In the distance, the lights of high-rises flickered sparsely; nearby, shadows hurried past in a rush.
With a sweep of his Spiritual Sense, Jiang Ning found his precious Electric Bike.
He did not head straight back to River Dam, instead setting off for his next appointment.
Meanwhile, downtown.
In a cozy room, Chen Siqing curled up on the sofa, enjoying the blast of the air conditioner. Yuzhou had no central heating. Unless a family had installed underfloor or wall heating during renovations, like Tang Jing's family, most households still relied on air conditioning.
"Little sis, how can I improve at games?" Chen Siqing asked earnestly.
Chen Siyu answered without hesitation, "Watch more, play more, learn more."
"But why can't I learn it?"
"You need to wait for someone."
"What kind of person?"
Chen Siyu said solemnly, "A gaming expert. He'll teach me how to play games."
"Oh." Chen Siqing responded.
Chen Siyu was fired up, her blood boiling. "Sis, don't you want to become a gaming expert too? To slaughter everyone in that world and become a king-like existence!"
"I do."
She shifted into a more comfortable position and continued scrolling through her phone.
The mood was rather flat.
How could passion simply die down?
"Sis, what are you doing?" Chen Siyu asked.
"Waiting for that person with you."
While riding his Electric Bike, Jiang Ning received a message from Chen Siyu.
