A False Alarm

"Ah! A corpse has risen... No, he's been possessed by a water demon!"

Seeing Yu Jing suddenly awaken with a bullet hole through his brow, and recalling what had happened at the center of the lake, his good friend Billy had no doubts at all about Yu Jing's identity.

Yu Jing, jolted awake ahead of time, rapidly scanned the situation before him: the double-barreled rifle in Billy's hands, the fact that one barrel was cooler than the other, the location of the bullet hole, and what Billy had just said.

He reconstructed everything that had happened while he was asleep, completing the entire thought process in the blink of an eye.

"This is a little troublesome. Luckily, Fang He was floating nearby in the lake earlier and Billy mistook her for a water demon... Fang He, come out and put on a show!"

Yu Jing had to perfect his disguise. Otherwise, once his identity was exposed, the plot would end right there.

Suddenly, Yu Jing's eyes widened as he lay on the floor, and his rigid body rose upright.

Facing Billy, Anna, and the five ruffians, strange plant roots spilled from the bullet hole in Yu Jing's head. More roots also emerged from the seven openings on his face.

"Heehee... You damn brats, I'm going to turn every one of you into fresh, fragrant plant fertilizer!"

A sharp and grotesque female voice came from Yu Jing's mouth.

"You're a water demon! Somebody save me!"

Billy was so frightened that he wet himself. Seeing Yu Jing in that state, and remembering how Yu Jing had been soaked from head to toe and passed out on the floor when they first entered, the five ruffians all believed Billy. Yu Jing really had been possessed by a water demon.
