Cooperation in Escape (Part One)

A chill wind swept through the corridor, making Billy, who stood outside Yu Jing and the others' dorm room, shiver uncontrollably.

"Right! I'll get the key from the dorm supervisor!"

When Billy reached the dorm supervisor's room on the first floor, he found the supervisor lying peacefully on the bed, completely silent.

"Bang!"

As Billy entered, he accidentally knocked over a kettle. The sound rang especially loudly through the silent hallway, yet the dorm supervisor lying on the bed did not react at all.

"He's not waking up? Everyone must have been completely parasitized by the insects roaming the corridors, and had their brains taken over. I have to find a way to save them."

Billy took the keys to all the dorm rooms from the drawer. When he returned to Yu Jing and the others' room and unlocked the door, he still could not push it open. Something was clearly bracing it shut from the other side.

"I have to save them."

Worried about the safety of his brothers and the woman he loved, Billy turned the electromagnetic gun's power up to its maximum. One shot would be enough to drain the high-energy battery completely.

The moment he pulled the trigger, a highly compressed electromagnetic pulse shot from the gun, and the recoil hurled Billy into the wall.

The wooden dorm-room door was blown apart by the electromagnetic impact, but the room beyond was blocked by constantly writhing green plants. Having come under attack, two vines instinctively wrapped themselves around Billy at the doorway.

"This is... the water demon! It must be taking revenge on us because we broke our promise and left the cabin in the woods early."
