Aramaki!
A young Aramaki, whose hair had not yet receded into a Mediterranean.
He looked more like the Aramaki in "Memory."
"You said Aramaki was the fortress's avatar. Then who are you?"
"I'm an avatar of Aramaki. More precisely, I'm part of his humanity—the part that resists the fortress."
"Then why do you resist the fortress?" Gao Gong asked.
"People pursue freedom. Do they need a reason?"
"Obtaining freedom under the calculations of a planetary mainframe isn't easy. How did you manage it?"
"The Deep Web helped me." Seeing Gao Gong's strange expression, he added, "I mean the Deep Web in its planetary-mainframe form, not the Deep Web in its Calamity form."
"Oh."
Seeing that Gao Gong remained expressionless, "Aramaki" dropped another bombshell:
"Don't you want to know what the fortress sent me to do while I infiltrated the Deep Web's faction?"
