Qingshi Fulin immediately stopped in his tracks, his gaze sharpening in an instant as he swiftly locked onto the direction Dong E'qing had indicated.
The light of his sword flickered faintly, its tip aimed deep into the woods, ready at any moment to face whatever danger might appear.
"Don't worry. I've already sensed it. There's someone over there," Qingshi Fulin said softly, a hint of composure in his voice.
Dong E'qing nodded and gripped Qingshi Fulin's hand tightly. Together, they headed deeper into the woods.
They approached cautiously and discovered a clearing. A figure sat in the middle of it. He was an old man dressed in a green robe, with graying hair and a kindly face. Sitting cross-legged on the ground with his eyes closed, he seemed completely unaware of their arrival.
Qingshi Fulin and Dong E'qing exchanged a glance and slowly moved closer. The light of Qingshi Fulin's sword gradually faded. He did not want to disturb the old man.
The two of them stopped in front of the old man. Qingshi Fulin asked softly, "Senior, may I ask who you are?"
The old man slowly opened his eyes and looked at them warmly. A trace of surprise flashed in his gaze, but it quickly returned to calm. "You're Qingshi Fulin and Dong E'qing, aren't you?"
Qingshi Fulin and Dong E'qing were both startled. They had not expected the old man to know their names. Qingshi Fulin froze slightly, then immediately cupped his hands in salute. "Senior, I am indeed Qingshi Fulin. May I ask how you know our names?"
The old man smiled faintly, his voice carrying a trace of warmth. "My name is Fang Yichen. I was an old friend of your masters. Your masters once asked me to wait here for you."
