Soran ultimately refused the Goblin Demon Sorcerer's offer.

The fury on the sorcerer's face as he left was plain to see, as though Soran were a fool who didn't know what was good for him. The threat in his eyes made the other demons gloat. They figured Soran would not live much longer. He had dared to refuse a Demon Lord to his face. There was almost no chance he would leave Gurumba Arena alive.

Goblin sorcerers were also setting up a Dimensional Anchor Magic Circle near the tavern to stop him from escaping with Greater Teleport. The Goblin Demon Lord did not want to openly break his own rules in Gurumba Arena, so he was unlikely to attack Soran outright. His move would probably come during Death Combat. Once Soran died in a duel at Gurumba Arena, the Dragon Crystal would belong to no one.
