Soren cast Fly on himself and headed straight for the Misty Forest. From the druid, he had learned the full story.

The unrest around White Horse City had spread far and wide lately, but since it mainly affected the humans in the area, neither the elves nor the other races had paid much attention. Only when the Druid Council in the Misty Forest detected abnormal elemental energy in the mountain range did it draw their interest. The druids did not want to offend a powerful red dragon without good reason, so they had only sent a high-tier druid to investigate.

That investigation uncovered something alarming.

The druid discovered that, at some unknown point, this place had become an active volcano. It had clearly been created artificially, which explained the abnormal elemental energy nearby.

Boro-Cheetah was a druid skilled in stealth. When he first discovered creatures from the Underdark, he too sensed something was wrong. He ventured deep inside the volcano to investigate, only to uncover an even more shocking conspiracy. Beneath the crater was a direct passage to the Underdark, and he also discovered a drow city nearby. The volcano in the Surface World sat directly above a volcano in the Underdark. Before he could figure out what was going on, the Drow Matriarch's elite guard discovered him.

After a desperate chase and escape, he encountered Soren, who happened to be passing through.
