Blight spread like a disease.

In the forest north of Icewind Dale, all life vanished in the blink of an eye.

A flash of magic lit up the edge of the Lizardfolk Swamp, and a Portal appeared. It was temporary but fixed in place. As the passage through space stabilized, figures in dark gray robes emerged one after another. Among them were humans, Lizardfolk, Elves, and even creatures made of twisted roots. Their roles varied just as widely. At their head stood an Elf druid, but unlike other druids, this one reeked of decay.

A Blight!

The most fallen of all druid paths: an evil soul who spread disease and blight through nature.

Second in line stood a human Assassin. He had a pale face, and the Dagger at his waist gleamed black, unmistakably coated in a deadly poison.

The stench of decay spread.

An old woman with a haggard, withered face emerged from the dying forest. Religious tattoos covered her face. Even the soil beneath her feet seemed infected, turning an unnatural dark green. She was the Lady of Poisons, the Lady of Plagues, the Goddess of Poisons and Disease. For reasons tied to her portfolios, she was trapped in a body that had once been breathtakingly beautiful but was now ravaged by disease and age.

She was a Chaotic Evil deity.

Her greatest pleasure was spreading disease and plague so that people would fear her name. Her followers included fallen druids, Assassins, and physicians.

"My Lord!"

The worshippers fell to their knees.

The Lady of Poisons glanced at them coldly, then turned her gaze north. "Leave this place first," she said slowly. "I sense something unpleasant approaching."

The group soon departed.

Not long after they left, an eagle's piercing cry rang out. It swooped down from the sky
