The True God Realm.
The power of a deity's domain was not something mortals could easily resist. Within a True God Realm, the rules shifted in the deity's favor, much like the laws governing different planes. Even now, Soren's true body suffered a −2 penalty to saving throws from the opposing Chaotic Rules of the Abyss. The effect was invisible, but it was real. The rules of a True God Realm were simpler and more forceful: those aligned with its power received a boost, while those who were not suffered for it.
The God of Hunt had activated the Chaos Domain and the Evil Domain.
Compared with an Alignment Domain wielded by a non-deity, a deity's domain was vastly more powerful. A devil's Evil Aura imposed a −1 penalty on the saving throws of enemies with an opposing alignment while granting the devil a +1 bonus, creating a two-point gap. A deity's Evil Aura affected targets of every alignment: those of the Good Alignment took a −2 penalty, those of the Neutral Alignment took a −1 penalty, and the deity gained a +2 bonus.
In other words, when Malar, the God of Hunt, activated both domains, the gap between the two sides widened.
The God of Hunt gained a +4 bonus to saving throws, while the others suffered penalties of up to −4.
That was an eight-point gap in saving throws.
A deity's saving throws in Avatar Form were not as high as one might imagine. Some who had attained divinity too easily might not even have saving throws as high as Soren's.
But with two domains active, the vast majority of effects that allowed saving throws could no longer affect the God of Hunt.
"This is bad!"
Soren realized what was about to happen and murmured, "Unless someone casts
