The Balance of the Abyss (Part Two)

The order of the multiverse was collapsing.

One by one, the gods were falling from their divine realms into the mortal world. Deep within the Abyss, an even more terrible upheaval was brewing. Every time chaos like this struck, the balance of power in the Abyss was reshuffled.

The Abyss had always been changing.

Its balance of power had never stood still: from the defeat of the Obyrith to the rise of the Tanar'ri, from the emergence of the Abyssal Triumvirate to the Succubus Queen climbing to power over the corpse of her former lover, the Demon Prince Demogorgon. Power shifted more violently in the Abyss than in any other realm. Over the long centuries, Baator Hell had seen only one Archduke of Hell rise to power, Dispater, while the Abyss had produced a great many Demon Lords.

Lately, however, the Succubus Queen seemed to have run into trouble of her own!

Several old enemies she had defeated appeared to have escaped. Deep in the Abyss, at a place called the Well of Darkness, a powerful succubus she had imprisoned had mysteriously vanished.

For a very long time,

the Succubus Queen had simply followed her nature. Malcanthet's chief aim was to satisfy her desires, and every scheme she devised served that end. She sought novel sensations through the Fallen Witch's pleasure rituals, pleasures she had never known through those same rituals, and the exhilaration of humiliating and trampling the enemies she hated.

The Succubus Queen's rise had been marked by plots and wars. While she was still relatively weak, she had used every means at her disposal to defeat her rival Shami-Amourae, the embodiment of corruption and lust and a former succubus lover of the Demon Prince Demogorgon.

After Malcanthet seduced the Demon Prince, Shami-Amourae was imprisoned in the Well
