The Goddess of Magic's Trail

The Goddess of Magic was at the heart of one of the greatest upheavals of the Time of Troubles.

Her fall was arguably what made the Time of Troubles so devastating. The collapse of the Weave had consequences that reached across the Multiverse long after the Time of Troubles ended. So when the Goddess of Magic suddenly appeared, Soren had to pay attention. Whether he could change the future was another question, but he needed to know where events were headed.

In the near future, the deaths of tens of millions would be tied to the Goddess of Magic.

At the critical moment when the Planar Barriers shattered and the Demon Legion and Devil Legion descended upon the Material Plane, the Goddess of Magic suddenly fell. The Weave collapsed, reducing Spellcasters to helpless bystanders in an instant. Wizards were hit hardest, but even priests were left with nothing but hand-to-hand combat: the Faith Network above the Weave's ninth layer had collapsed, and the Gods temporarily could not reach the Weave's higher layers to grant Divine Magic. That left only Melee Class Professionals on the front lines against the Demons and Devils.

Many tragic heroes emerged in those days.

The names of many Warriors were celebrated, but they still could not turn the tide. Fighters alone could never stop the Demon army!

Without Spellcasters, they could not even close the Portals to the Abyss.

Countless Legendary Warriors slew thousands upon thousands of Demons, only to be worn down and killed by the endless flood pouring through the Portals.

The Material Plane might have been weak, but most cities had at least one Legendary Professional to defend them.
