Even fiends could not alter the weather for long. The rain of fire had relied entirely on the planar power of Inferno Hell; producing it through a spell would have required the power of a deity. Port Nyanzaru's energy shield had blocked most of the fireballs, leaving only things outside the city damaged. Even the harbor had been largely unaffected, because protective shields had risen from the Temple of the Sea and the Temple of Wealth as soon as the fire began to rain down.
Port Nyanzaru was now the central hub of the Overseas Islands.
Its transient population had already grown enormous. For the Goddess of Wealth, this was currently her greatest source of faith on the Material Plane, while for the Goddess of the Sea, it was an opportunity to establish her faith among humans. She had quite a few followers in Port Nyanzaru; the vast majority of its fishermen and sailors were her lay worshippers. Soren's portfolio did not conflict with either goddess's, and depending on mortals' own inclinations, all three had their own spheres in which to cultivate followers.
The two goddesses had intervened to resolve the harbor's crisis.
Once the rain of fire stopped, the fighting ahead would become much easier. They only needed to defeat the invading fiends.
Most of the fiends from Inferno Hell were yugoloths.
