Over the course of his legendary adventures, he had acquired a wealth of immensely powerful equipment, including artifacts such as the Holy Avenger, the Staff of the Magi, and Morningstar.
According to the normal course of history, this Godsbane of Slaughter should have been able to inherit the portfolio and become the God of Slaughter.
But what no one could possibly have expected was that his final choice would be to destroy Bhaal's entire throne, then retire into seclusion as a mortal.
