Faced with the reversal of the situation, Nikolai, injured on top of his existing wounds, looked grim.

He tried to pull out the crossbow bolts that had pinned his left arm and shoulder, but the wound on his right side affected his right hand. He could only fail again and again amid exertion and muffled groans.

Nikolai could do nothing but sigh softly, ending his sixth attempt to pull out the bolt with a moan.

"How did you hit me?"

Starfaller unwillingly stared at the utterly inconspicuous black arm crossbow, then angrily glanced at the bolts that had pinned him to the rock wall.

"What exactly is that weapon's ability?"

Monty was equally close to death. The severely burned man lay weakly on the ground, struggling to brace himself against the rock and sit up while silently recovering his strength.

The Dead Crow merely gave a disdainful snort.

"I have no need to tell you."

Nikolai looked at him and could not help gritting his teeth.

"Then come on." Starfaller was drenched in sweat from the pain, but he still forced a few words through trembling lips:

"Twist my neck and finish this."

The Dead Crow stared fixedly at his miserable state. After a long while, he suddenly bared his teeth in a grin.

"I'm not going to risk approaching you again, Thorn." Monty endured the pain, forcefully tearing off a whole piece of cloth and gently wiping his wounds. His slow bandaging movements were exactly like Nikolai's.

"We're both in terrible shape right now..."

Monty struggled to raise his head and managed a smile. "If we clash again, who knows what kind of surprise you've prepared to turn the tables on me?"

Nikolai narrowed his eyes.

"You're afraid of me," Starfaller said coldly.

The Dead Crow shook his head.
