The Prince took another bite of food and immediately felt uncomfortable.
Dean was still staring at him, seemingly very interested in how he ate.
What is it? Tales suddenly wanted to ask.
But he did not.
Fortunately, Louisa suddenly spoke up, drawing Dean's attention away and relieving Tales of his discomfort.
"I feel like we've offended him, Dean."
"You know what Tomding is like." Louisa sighed, her face full of worry. "Damn it, can you believe it? We clearly tried to save his life, yet we still offended him."
"It's fine. This is the last time we'll work for him." Dean sighed. "Once this trip is over, we'll never take another job from Tomding."
"The last time?"
Kuaishang closed his eyes and exhaled. "Desert God bless us! I've had enough of that man! Every other sentence is 'I know so-and-so...'"
"Last time—hah, that's even worse. I can already imagine how he'll slander us behind our backs." Louisa spoke sarcastically.
"I told you we shouldn't have come." Mackey watched Dean silently.
"It was my fault, brother." Dean smiled apologetically at the Aridbone person. "We never should have headed north."
The bald Mercenary's eyes gleamed.
"But we don't need to worry about Tomding. I think it's time we left Bladefang Dunes... though we never planned to stay long anyway."
Those words made every Mercenary present stop what they were doing and look toward Dean in unison.
Tales could not help but grow curious. This bald Mercenary seemed to possess a force of presence that could draw everyone's attention the moment he opened his mouth.
"Leave Bladefang... You mean leave our current base?" Old Hammer repeated in surprise.
The Mercenaries exchanged glances, seemingly astonished by the suggestion.
Louisa asked cautiously, "Leave? Now? What are you thinking?"
Dean shook his head.
"First, the Free
