In Everstar City, the fervor sparked by the Prince's return had somewhat diminished—or perhaps merely subsided as it accumulated, waiting for its next eruption. At least Mindis Hall, which had closed its doors to visitors, was no longer as crowded as before, and Tales was able to enjoy a rare stretch of precious peace.

But that did not mean he was comfortable from then on.

Starting the next day, before His Highness Tales had time to properly enjoy the power brought by the grand status of "Master of Mindis Hall," the Royal tutoring team, led by Gilbert—the "Royal pretty-boy image-packaging company," as Duke of Star Lake resentfully called it—methodically moved into Mindis Hall.

First came grammar. The teachers of Ancient Empire script and Common Elvish were none other than Scholar Bona, a renowned scholar from the Royal Grammar Academy.

Being able to invite him could hardly be called anything but excellent value.

For one thing, Scholar Bona's smooth, bald head, polished enough to reflect lamplight, saved Mindis Hall a considerable amount of lamp oil and conserved resources;

For another, his soft, low, intermittent, and indistinct voice—"He sounds like he's about to die," Deadpan Face cruelly remarked, having been unable to speak loudly ever since—forced the entire hall to remain absolutely silent during lessons, benefiting the environment;

Third, his vast knowledge and broad range of expertise practically compressed the Prince's five subjects—grammar, logic, rhetoric, Ancient Empire script, and Elvish—into one, allowing Tales to learn the answers to questions such as these:

How much would languages whose word order differed completely from Common Tongue—even in such fundamentals as subject, verb, and object, such as the troublesome Ancient Empire script and damned Common Elvish—change grammar? How would they affect the principles and expression of logic, and what challenges would they pose to rhetoric?
