"Why?"
Raphael's expression was unpleasant as he replied coldly.
"There is no why." Tales stopped in front of the portrait of "Lone Sail" Noah Amond and gritted his teeth as he raised his head.
"I want to see him."
Raphael shook his head.
"I don't think..."
"I know he's here." Tales cut him off, desperately trying to compose his thoughts as he insisted with absolute certainty, "After the banquet, he was brought straight here."
In the corridors of the Secret Section, under the gazes of the Intelligence Chiefs of generations past lining the walls, Raphael stared fixedly at Tales.
"What are you going to do?"
"Nothing."
Tales steadied his emotions and made up his mind.
"But he's one of the messes I left behind."
"I have to see him."
"Immediately."
Seeing the resolute, determined expression on Tales's face, Raphael had no choice but to frown.
"I can't decide that. I need to ask Lord Hansen first. Tomorrow..."
"You've been putting me off all day." Tales cut him off without mercy. "For old times' sake, you ought to be of some use, shouldn't you?"
Raphael pressed his lips together.
But at that moment—
"If you truly wish to see him, Your Highness Tales, it isn't impossible."
The two turned around together.
The speaker was an acquaintance leaning on a cane.
He stood beneath the portrait of the "Pale Baron," Sancho Doyle, looking respectful and humble.
"Nobu?"
Raphael looked at him in surprise.
"What are you doing here?"
As the highest-ranking person in charge of the Kingdom Secret Bureau in the Western Wasteland, Nobu did not answer. He simply looked quietly at Tales.
The Prince glanced at Raphael, then turned and walked toward Nobu.
"Are you serious, Nobu?"
"You can really take me to see him? Anke Bayral?"
Nobu nodded and bowed
