"Wait, what are you trying to do?!"
Raymond studied Huai Shi's peculiar expression—the one a homeroom teacher wore when asking about revision progress right before finals—and a chill ran down his spine.
"I'm just concerned about you."
Huai Shi earnestly advised him, "Look at you, already in your thirties. Don't spend all your time driving. You need ambitions in life. Like, say, advancing a rank?"
"No, I think I can wait a little longer!"
Raymond shook his head like a power drill, practically leaving afterimages. "What advancement? I'm not advancing. I'll never advance in this lifetime. Third rank is great! I like third rank!"
"I don't!"
The red dragon suddenly poked its head through the window, blinking its two headlights. "To be fair, I think we could consider it."
"Consider my ass!"
Raymond flew into a rage. "We haven't even paid off our loan yet!"
"That's because you only pay the minimum every month and keep trying to slack off!"
"I'm recovering from a serious illness!" Raymond retorted. "I'm still growing! What's wrong with saving some money so I can eat more? Besides, advancing in such a rush definitely won't be stable. What if there are side effects?"
"Small matter."
Huai Shi waved a hand. "If the foundation isn't stable, replace the foundation. If the chassis has a problem, replace the chassis. Head hurts, replace the head. Foot hurts, replace the foot."
Other paths might need to worry about that during advancement, but the Eternal Road had no such problem.
The Eternal Road had nothing else going for it, but its modularity was unmatched.
As the saying went, thirty percent depended on hard work, seventy percent on spending money. The key was that only those willing to spend could win.
