Background

The Present Realm is humanity's living world. Together with the border regions and Hell, it forms the complete World: the Present Realm is the illuminated summit, the borders serve as its defensive wall and dam, and Hell is the vast abyss beneath 953 1081.

Its stability depends on systems built and maintained by the Astronomical Society. These systems replaced the unstable magic of the previous world with physical rules that can sustain authorized phenomena across human territory 77.

The realm is finite. The Continuance Institute estimated only 110 years of remaining lifespan following the War of All Realms, while later projections held that even a successful reform plan could extend its life only a few centuries without more radical action 1656 1664.

The First Blockade establishes stable physical laws and permits authorized powers to function throughout the Present Realm 77 820.

The Current Realm Defense Line formally activates as Rainbow Bridge links close around the borders, transforming the world into a sealed war zone 1041. The War of All Realms begins when the King of Withered declares his invasion and Hell's destructive beams descend upon the borders 1107.

Collapse and Restoration

The Piper binds the Present Realm and Abyss together through innumerable scarlet threads, bringing the war toward its final crisis 1612. The Rainbow Bridge is destroyed, the Pillar of Divine Marrow breaks, and the realm's light is extinguished amid the Grand Lord and Ranch Owner's assaults 1648 1652.

The Astronomical Society's authority is then activated at the cost of the realm's lifespan, forcing the depth tide to collapse and restoring the world through the Creation Plan 1651. Huai Shi's transformation into Taiyi and the combined sacrifice of multiple leaders restore the sun and draw a boundary against darkness and pollution 1652.

Heaven Project

After the war, the Present Realm's survival becomes the focus of the Pan-Territory Conference rather than a victory celebration 1654. Huai Shi's Heaven Project proposes solidifying the realm, fusing Destruction Factors into it, destroying the Abyss, and using the Rainbow Bridge's temporal displacement to carry Heaven to a new world tens of thousands of years in the future 1676.

The project is approved through a realm-wide vote. The Current Realm Management Committee is created to oversee its implementation, with authority superseding all ordinary people, Ascendants, scholars, and alchemists within the world 1681.
