Background / History

First Life and Reincarnation

Jing Qian was originally a fencer repeatedly disparaged by his rival Wang Li for supposedly lacking talent. Before leaving for the capital with Jing Qian's aunt, his grandfather sent him the Jing family sword manual, recognizing his potential 1.

After killing one knife-wielding robber and injuring four others, Jing Qian died from his wounds. In a strange confined space after death, he repeatedly killed the bandit leader he had slain, absorbing pale-green smoke containing martial memories and strengthening his body and mind. After the seventh death, the enemy disintegrated and a stone tablet identified Jing Qian as a one-year-old host with 0.1 Destiny Essence 1.

He awoke reincarnated as an infant under his grandmother's care. Innate Primordial Qi later reforged his foundation, giving him a radically different starting point from his first life 1 4.

Crimson Pearl Island and Hun Zhou

Azure Pearl protected Jing Qian during the crisis on Crimson Pearl Island, helping him escape by raft and later sacrificing one of its compound eyes to assist his cultivation 3 10. Jing Qian developed the Sumeru Destiny Constitution into a spatial power, using it to traverse a battlefield and kill Ao Li with a single sword strike 13.

He arrived at Hun Zhou Island using a bronze Jing Clan plaque recovered from Jing Ran's storage hairpin. The plaque identified him as a descendant of the former warship commander's direct line and granted passage through the checkpoint 37.

Jing Qian then exploited his claimed inheritance from ancestor Jing Chuan to obtain compensation from the Maritime Affairs Office. Although Qian Yuan had long suppressed the Jing Clan, Jing Qian concealed his identity and sought to secure the clan's remaining foundation for his own cultivation 41.

After earning sufficient battle merit during a Yin Year, he was promoted to Spirit Official and appointed Education Directorate of Hun Zhou 83. He later left a Little Ghost incarnation to impersonate the official while his true body operated freely under a changed appearance 86.

Dao Child and Sect Founder

Jing Qian cultivated both the Pure Yang Heaven and Yanfu Dao inheritances. In the Ghost Origin Hall, the Hearth Spirit accepted him as a disciple of the Jambudvipa Dao, though he objected to the Dharma name “Mei Qian” bestowed upon him 122.

He established Yanfu Dao in Hun Zhou and publicly claimed the title of Jambudvipa Child, provoking the Floating Under Three Sects. He subsequently appointed Good Corn as Yanfu Dao's first Super Great Protector God and promoted Princess Ping'an as its seventeenth Protector God 129.

Heavenly Dynasty and Bloodline Rebirth

Jing Qian entered the Limitless Heavenly Dynasty through his Su Clan maternal connection while maintaining that he remained a Jing Clan descendant 152 163. After helping Su Qing dissolve Heavenly Devil poison, he acquired a Spirit Official post and ownership of plot A47 in the High Tower District 172.

The Empress's Human Form enfeoffed him as a duke, after which he created the independent external avatar Feasting God 188. When E'Gao Shangdi attacked him through the title of Duke Jing, Jing Qian used the crisis to reconstruct his body with the Pangu Embryo, replacing his original human bloodline and escaping the Empress's retribution 197.

Appearance

Jing Qian's appearance changes repeatedly through reincarnation, cultivation, disguises, and bloodline refinement. He can use Nourishing Flesh Sprouts to optimize and restructure his body; one such transformation reduced him to just over four feet tall, gave him a thin but powerful frame, and changed his demeanor enough to conceal his identity 86.

  • His post-disguise body is described as slightly thin, with spirited eyes and an air combining self-assurance, conviction, ambition, ease, and solemnity 86.
  • His Sage Appearance fuses with his physical body as living light armor marked by dark-gold patterns representing Six Paths Reincarnation and the Sumeru dimension 146.
  • The Pangu Embryo remade his body with primordial Dao patterns, immense physical density, and an aura that distorts nearby space-time 185.
  • His Sumeru Xiang Er Sword Body can manifest as a towering twenty-to-thirty-foot combat form while remaining dormant beneath his skin in ordinary conditions 235.

Personality

Jing Qian is calculating, pragmatic, and intensely cultivation-focused. He is willing to deceive institutions, appropriate resources, and assume dangerous karma when doing so advances his long-term foundation, but he avoids needless entanglements that distract him from the Dao 41 48.

His confidence is paired with methodical preparation. He repeatedly studies opponents and systems before acting, uses failures as combat data, and seeks powerful adversaries rather than avoiding them 95 173 299. He is also notably vindictive toward those who attack him, pursuing retaliation immediately once he possesses the means 275.

Despite his greed for resources, Jing Qian values knowledge, capable subordinates, and useful alliances. He reads extensively, treats Book Mountain study as cultivation, and uses Worldly Understanding to develop intelligent ghost servants rather than relying solely on personal force 149 150.
