The new king's audience had ended. Some of the lords from various regions had returned to their territories, while others would remain in Crystal Radiance for a while.

At the Royal Palace, Rhodesney XVIII summoned the ministers who wielded great influence over the kingdom's policies.

"Everyone, the first country to recognize the legal status of wizards has appeared. What impact might this have on the world? And how should Aldo respond?"

Palace Minister Rupert narrowed his eyes as he looked at Paul Greiman, who was seated across from him.

The young Northwest noble sat somewhat stiffly beside Princess Catherine, perhaps unaccustomed to the unfamiliar surroundings.

Rupert was somewhat surprised to see Greiman here.

But after thinking it over, he felt it made perfect sense. He was Princess Catherine's fiancé, and it was only proper for the king to invite him to observe such a high-level meeting out of respect.

Rupert glanced at Princess Catherine beside Paul, and a wave of regret rose in his heart.

He had watched Catherine grow up from childhood. She was such an outstanding woman, yet because of the exclusivity of power, she had to marry into Northwest Bay.

If only she had been born a man.

Rupert harbored some complaints about the new king, Rhodesney XVIII. How could he fail to consult his old ministers first about something as important as marrying off the princess?

Strictly speaking, Rhodesney XVIII had consulted them. In fact, he had gone to them together with Catherine.

But it had been more like a procedural gesture out of respect for the ministers.

The worldly-wise Rupert could tell at a glance that the siblings had already reached an agreement in private. And judging from Catherine's unenthusiastic attitude, the king had clearly used both persuasion and pressure to convince his sister.
