Paul's days in Crystal Radiance could be called quite pleasant.

Rhodesney XVIII gave him a mansion, where he spent his days writing and receiving guests. As a newly appointed Marquis, he also often attended the King's cabinet meetings.

He knew his new title had made many people jealous, so during meetings he mostly remained a silent listener. Even when he had his own thoughts, he would only seek out the King privately after the meeting to express them.

In the early days, many people in the Royal Capital's noble circles wanted to befriend him as well. Invitations to all kinds of banquets came pouring in, but he was actually poor at handling such occasions. He couldn't understand many of the jokes in Crystal Radiance's social circles, and when the people around him began laughing, he could only follow along with a baffled smile.

Later, he decided that looked utterly foolish. Whenever a banquet began, he would take a glass of wine and slowly savor it alone in a corner. No matter what, he couldn't summon the motivation to participate in those boring conversations.

As time passed, he earned the title of King of Awkward Silences, and Crystal Radiance's noble circles reached a consensus: inviting Marquis Paul Greiman to a banquet was a terrible idea.

The Marquis always tried his best to lower his presence, but because of his status, no one could truly leave him out in the cold.
