Oblique Line Attack

Seeing the smoke and dust billowing high into the air ahead, everyone in the New Sect Alliance Army realized that the real battle was about to begin.

Andrew was somewhat worried about whether the armies of Eaton and the other nations could withstand this fierce charge. He ordered the Third Battalion of the Marine Corps, which was serving as the Reserve Force, to move rapidly toward the left wing and support the allied troops there.

Fedotov's cavalry moved swiftly. Before long, they reached the New Sect Army's left wing. These highly skilled Church knights engaged the infantry forming the square, wielding Chain Hammers and Longswords.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A continuous series of explosive reports rang out, and in an instant, thick clouds of smoke obscured the battlefield's left wing.

Just as the two sides became locked in a stalemate, the Third Battalion of the Marine Corps arrived in time and joined the battle. A volley of musket fire sent the nearby Guardian Army knights tumbling from their horses.

"Wicked magic!" Fedotov believed his speculation had been confirmed. If those strange attacks that spewed fire and smoke weren't magic, then what were they?

He was completely consumed by a fearless, reckless emotion, leading his men bravely toward the Marine Corps.

The soldiers from Arda rapidly changed formation, switching from their original line formation into a Hollow Square.

Fedotov's cavalry launched attack after attack against them, but this seemingly weak square remained unmoved. No matter which direction the Guardian Army cavalry attacked from, they were always met with bullets streaking toward them and a jungle of bayonets.

They were shocked. When charging other, frailer infantry, the enemy would invariably be terrified by the force of their charge, either scattering to the sides in panic or desperately trying to squeeze behind someone else.
