The Victory of the New Sect

In this battle, the Arda Army deployed ten Six-Pound Cannons and four Twelve-Pound Cannons.

Following Andrew's orders, the artillerymen concentrated their fire on the middle of the Guardian Army's Trapezoidal Formation with Salvo Fire.

The thunder of fourteen cannons firing together was tremendous. It rang across the entire battlefield, shaking everyone's heart.

The high-speed cannonballs slammed into the Guardian Army's formation, bouncing gleefully across the ground again and again and raising waves of blood and gore. No flesh-and-blood body could withstand these metal spheres packed with immense energy. Only after their energy was exhausted did they sink into the mud and fall still.

The Guardian Army soldiers screamed one after another. The shields in their hands and armor on their bodies offered no protection at all, leaving them as fragile as cheese before the incoming cannonballs.

Each time, the Arda artillerymen picked one formation as their target. Their first Salvo Fire achieved remarkable results, mainly because the enemy's advance had greatly shortened the distance between the two armies, multiplying both their accuracy and power.

From the Guardian Army's perspective, the fifth formation from the left seemed to have been viciously jabbed several times by invisible giants wielding enormous clubs. Large numbers of soldiers were wounded or killed, while those still standing were scattered and disorganized, staring in panic at their comrades screaming on the ground.

Their morale plummeted, and fear seized everyone's heart.

Before long, the Arda infantry, advancing at a light jog, brought them within firing range.

"Stand still!" the commander shouted.

Because of their rapid advance, the infantry's line had become uneven, but it still maintained its general shape. Under the command, it re-formed into an orderly line in less than fifteen seconds.
