Inside a classroom at Greiman Military Academy, Bryce Alder struck the edge of the sand table hard with his pointer. The metallic clang made all the "students" look up.
A sharp smile appeared beneath Bryce's thick beard.
Looking back on the past, he had once been nothing more than a Wild Knight from the countryside. Who could have imagined that one day he would be teaching military courses to the "important figures" from the Royal Capital?
Klein, Lester, Auffina... These people were all veteran generals who had followed Princess Catherine into battle for years. In the past, all he could do was look up to them, but now they addressed him as "Teacher Bryce" every other sentence.
What a sense of accomplishment!
"Everyone, I presume you're already very familiar with the various rules and regulations of the Arda Army."
"But that's only one aspect of what forged this army!"
"Today, I'm going to unveil the mathematical secret behind why the Arda Army is capable of defeating those traditional armies." His pointer indicated the broad blackboard behind him, where the Greiman Combat Dynamic Equation was prominently written.
"Look at this formula!" Bryce's finger tapped each symbol in turn. "This is the unit's total combat power, this is individual effectiveness, this is troop count, and this is the battlefield width coefficient." He turned and drew two battle lines on the blackboard. "Traditional dense formations have a very low battlefield width coefficient because only the soldiers in the front rank can engage the enemy."
He quickly sketched a traditional soldier formation on the blackboard, demonstrating the predicament of rear-rank soldiers who could not participate in battle within a dense formation. Bryce suddenly dragged his pointer sideways. "But when we spread the formation out—" He rapidly drew a pair of sparse lines. "The battlefield
