Background / History

Transmigration and adoption into Clear Sky Sect

Tang San leapt from Ghost's Sorrow in his previous life and awoke as a crying infant in this world. Tang Hao and Tang Xiao later found him outside and brought him back to the Clear Sky Sect. Although his parents were ordinary sect members, his Innate Full Soul Power, Twin Martial Souls, and mutated Clear Sky Hammer made him an unprecedented talent within the sect. 92

The sect's acceptance gives Tang San a home and recognition he lacked in his former life. Tang Wei's regard for him earns him the position of “Third Young Master,” while Tang Hao becomes a father figure whom Tang San calls Brother Hao. 92

Tang San makes two private vows: to rebuild the Tang Sect through the power of the Clear Sky Sect, and eventually merge the two sects under the Tang name. He initially treats Blue Silver Grass as a Soul Power vessel while reserving the Clear Sky Hammer for top-tier Spirit Rings once he becomes powerful enough. 92

Conflict over the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Tang San first resolves to eliminate Yu Xiaoheng after learning that Yu Xiaoheng's ten-thousand-year Spirit Ring shattered Tang Hao's fighting spirit. He begins preparing the Dragon Whisker Needle as an assassination weapon while concealing his intent from the Clear Sky Sect. 115

After observing Yu Xiaoheng's conduct in Four Elements City, Tang San recognizes him as an ideal sect heir: talented, decisive, and devoted to his clan. This admiration does not lessen Tang San's resolve to kill him, as Yu Xiaoheng's existence threatens the future he envisions for the Clear Sky Sect. 135

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Tang San reveals the value of the Immortal Herbs and attempts to deny them to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. He later challenges Yu Xiaoheng directly, combining Blue Silver Grass, the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Sect techniques, and Hidden Weapons in a single assault. Yu Xiaoheng defeats him, reflects Tang San's Dragon Whisker Needles with a Lightning Magnetic Field, and intercepts Tang San's Zhuge Crossbow bolts before they can destroy the herbs. 139 144 145

Seizure of the treasure land

Tang San later leads the Clear Sky Sect's operation to seize the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. The operation includes an ambush that wipes out the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's remaining defenders while the herbs are transported away. 282

When pursuing Yu Shan in Sunset Forest, Tang San uses Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon to incapacitate him. He attempts to extract information about Yu Xiaoheng through intimidation and torture, but a black-robed Yu Xiaoheng intervenes. 283 284

Tang San attacks the black-robed figure with Blue Silver Grass, Blue Silver Prison, the Eight Spider Lances, and several Hidden Weapons. The opponent effortlessly counters these techniques and severely injures him, forcing Tang San to summon Clear Sky Sect reinforcements and ultimately retreat. 285 287 288 290

Divine inheritance and collapse

Following repeated defeats, Tang San accepts the Asura God's inheritance and withstands its killing intent with exceptional composure. Tang Hao comes to acknowledge that Tang San's resolve exceeds his own. 584

Tang Chen and Bo Saixi later sacrifice their remaining strength to prematurely awaken part of Tang San's divine power. Tang San uses this power to protect them and confront Yu Xiaoheng, but Guanyin's Tear is stopped by Yu Xiaoheng's million-year Spirit Ring. 590 591 592

After suffering further defeat, Tang San is left with most of his meridians severed, though the inheritance marks of the Sea God and Asura God remain within him. 593

Tang San eventually gains access to both divine powers, but his combined Sea God–Asura attack cannot harm Yu Xiaoheng. Crushed by grief over the destruction of the Clear Sky Sect and the deaths of those who supported him, he hesitates to continue fighting.
