Lu Yan was originally a mortal shop assistant at Steward Chu’s Spirit Talisman Shop. After being taken from the mortal city by Chu, his absence was mapped in the Urban Version as an alleged business trip to Myanmar; only Lu Yan understood that Chu had selected him for malicious reasons 5.

Following a version update, Lu Yan gambled that Steward Chu would lose his cultivation. He confronted and killed him inside an underground organ-trading factory with a Small Golden Light Talisman and his fists, then burned the body with a Spirit Fire Talisman to erase evidence 3 4.
