History

Founding and early development

Kaiyuan was formally founded by Su Qing in the Far West. Its legitimacy rested principally on Su Qing’s personal strength and political influence rather than ancestral grants or sectarian inheritance. Foreign envoys already treated the Far West as an Immortal Kingdom before the formal declaration, and neighboring states accepted Kaiyuan rather than risk opposing him. 520

During its first century, Kaiyuan mobilized public investment, Su’s Group funding, and loans from Bear Two’s Money House to exploit nearly every accessible mine within its borders. Only more than a dozen exceptionally dangerous mines—containing Tier 5 Great Evils, Ancient Demonic Evils, or unknown lethal hazards—remained untouched. 526

The resulting mineral supply supported cheap raw materials for Outer City factories. With Tool Puppets, labor from the Four Great Families, and expanding Hundred Arts production, Kaiyuan rapidly built an industrial base comparable to Wanghai Immortal City’s far older accumulation. 526

Rise to first-rate status

Kaiyuan hosted the Heroic Gathering, using the event to display its infrastructure, Puppet technology, commercial strength, and growing talent base to cultivators from across the Myriad Worlds. Su Qing’s personal performance in dozens of high-value events contributed more than two thousand points to Kaiyuan’s score. 529 534

The kingdom ultimately became one of the twelve recognized first-rate powers. Although its citizens initially considered first-rate status beyond reach, Kaiyuan’s performance established it as a major Western Sea power despite having existed for little more than a century. 564 566

Demonic war and expansion

During the large-scale Evil Demon offensive, Kaiyuan was one of the last major West Sea powers to avoid a large-scale invasion. Its spiritual veins, mineral reserves, Grotto-Heavens, Hundred Arts factories, and Eye of the Void made it a critical target. 620

When the Evil Demons attacked, Zhou Weidao directed Su Qing’s Puppet Legion through his divine sense. Golden Armor Beetle Puppets, Bomber Swarms, Grotto-Heaven true spirits, and layered Puppet defenses inflicted sufficient losses to force the enemy’s retreat. 621

The Jingshen Realm later chose to join Kaiyuan rather than remain exposed to pressure from the Myriad Worlds. Its arrival created the Jingshen District and supplied Kaiyuan with an established divine-weapon industry, abundant Puppets, specialized Puppet Masters, and Sacred Spirit Stone resources. 656 657 669

Expansion into the Myriad Worlds

Kaiyuan’s response to commercial suppression by the Primordial Beginning Sect and Eastern King Sect was the Tier 7 Lingxiao Palace Puppet. The Puppet gave Kaiyuan the ability to intervene militarily beyond Tianyuan and protect its interests across distant realms. 701 708

Kaiyuan subsequently led a coalition assault on the Evil Sword Realm. Its industrialized warfare—cheap Spirit Explosion shells, Self-Destructing Bee Swarms, Exorcism Missiles, and the Lingxiao Palace Puppet—cleared defenses that conventional cultivator forces could not afford to assault. 714

Political Position

Despite its military strength, Kaiyuan’s lack of a publicly recognized living Tier 7 Dao Master initially limited the willingness of major sects to commit to it politically.
