Boom!
The deafening sound carried far through the silent night.
Sunan calmly watched the dust rising several hundred meters away, stroking the cat as he patiently waited.
Before long, earth-shaking battle cries and screams came from the direction of the manor.
Just from the sounds alone, Sunan could picture the stunned confusion of the Starfire Cult members rushing to the gate after hearing the commotion, only to find the area deserted, followed by their terror and bewilderment as invisible, bloody attacks suddenly erupted around them.
Unless a Grand Knight-level ritual officer or a higher-ranking leader intervened, ordinary Starfire Cultists were nothing more than lambs awaiting slaughter before Hidden Dragon.
Until death descended, they would not know where the attacks had come from.
The fighting lasted around four or five minutes. Then, the invisible Hidden Dragon burst out of the manor and sprinted into the distance.
Three figures pursued close behind it.
One of them possessed an exceptionally imposing aura, and his straight-line sprinting speed was even faster than Hidden Dragon's.
"An Advanced Grand Knight? Most likely the priest in charge of this stronghold."
"The other two are Grand Knights as well. They should be ritual officers."
The Starfire Cult stronghold in Stone Bell City was managed by one priest and eight ritual officers.
Two ritual officers had died in Blackstone City.
Another two had died in last night's battle.
That meant there could be no more than two ritual officers left in the manor.
"Meow, will Little Hidden be okay?" Amy asked worriedly.
Who knew when she had given Hidden Dragon that name.
"Don't worry. It'll be fine," Sunan reassured her.
Hidden Dragon's Reality Shift ability was especially advantageous in the complex terrain of a town. If it focused solely on escaping, not even an Advanced Grand Knight could catch it. They could only be led around in circles by it, running farther and farther away.
After waiting patiently for a while and estimating that the three pursuers had gone a considerable distance, Sunan finally revealed himself and headed toward the manor.
He was not good at infiltration.
After all, he lacked suitable spells and Magical Items.
But there was no need to infiltrate.
The manor's remaining defenses posed no threat to him now.
The most important thing was to deal with anyone in his way as quickly as possible, then find the target of this trip.
In the devastated courtyard, a group of Starfire Cultists were busy treating the wounded. When they saw a man and a cat swaggering in, they froze in surprise.
Recovering their wits, one of them immediately realized something was wrong. He raised his weapon and shouted, "Who are you—"
Crackle!
Before he could finish speaking, a bolt of lightning blasted him into charred cinders!
More lightning and flames erupted violently afterward, sweeping across the entire courtyard!
There was not a single Grand Knight among the Starfire Cultists present. Sunan manipulated Energy Particles and easily disposed of them all.
"Where is the thing you're looking for?"
Sunan looked at Amy, who was lying on his shoulder.
The little one raised her head, tilted it as she sensed the surroundings, then pointed toward the front left. "That way! The concentration of Energy Particles over there is very high!"
Without another word, Sunan rushed toward the front left.
Starfire Cultists who heard the commotion continuously jumped out to stop him along the way, but he killed them casually. None of them could even slow his pace.
The manor was not large. In just four or five minutes, Sunan reached the place Amy had said was dense with Energy Particles.
A tightly shut iron door stood before him.
A splash of acid corroded a large hole into the iron door. Sunan bent down, passed through the opening, and descended the stairs.
Before him lay a spacious basement.
Luminous pearls embedded around the ceiling gave off a soft white glow, illuminating the entire basement as brightly as day.
Numerous wooden shelves stood around the room, each holding various items.
Books were the most numerous, with roughly thirty or forty of them.
There were also rings, necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry, as well as quite a few cloaks, swords, and other items.
Sunan's eyes lit up. He immediately walked over to the shelf holding the books and scanned their titles one by one.
"Magical Philosophy," "Planar Biology," "Burning Hand," "Magical Alarm," "Magic Missile," "Ray of Enfeeblement," "Fundamentals of Magical Item Creation," "Low-Tier Magical Item Compendium," "Design and Construction of the Magic Crystal Forging Furnace," "Magic Rune Core."
The dazzling array of books filled Sunan with delight.
Among the books before him, there were seven or eight First-Circle Spell model books alone, and even a Second Circle Spell model book.
Many of the remaining books contained highly practical knowledge as well.
For example, "Fundamentals of Magical Item Creation" could speed up his progress in learning Magical Item Creation.
"Low-Tier Magical Item Compendium" could provide him with blueprints for crafting Magical Items in the future.
"Design and Construction of the Magic Crystal Forging Furnace," as its name suggested, contained the construction blueprint for a Magic Crystal Forging Furnace.
The furnace in Sunan's laboratory was currently only a basic furnace. If he could build a Magic Crystal Forging Furnace, the cost of refining Blackrock Panthers would certainly drop drastically, and he would also have the foundation to refine higher-tier puppets.
"But I've never heard of a Magic Rune Core. Is it a Magical Item?"
Sunan shook his head. This was not the time to study it. The urgent priority was to take everything away.
Without hesitation, he stored everything in the magic cube.
After thinking for a moment, he also pried the luminous pearls from the ceiling and put them away before looking at Amy.
"Is everything that belonged to your master here?"
Amy nodded vigorously. "It's all here."
"Good. Then next, we'll look for the God Blood Amber."
"No problem, meow. The God Blood Amber is over there." Amy pointed toward the right.
Sunan stopped in his tracks as he was about to leave and looked at Amy in surprise.
"You can sense the location of the God Blood Amber?"
"Meow, I've already memorized the God Blood Amber's energy fluctuations. I can't be wrong."
Amy tilted her head, wearing a puzzled expression as if this were perfectly normal.
Sunan was rendered speechless.
He had assumed Amy could merely sense the density of Energy Particles. He had not expected that what this little cat could truly sense were far more fundamental energy fluctuations!
The gap between the two was worlds apart.
A wizard apprentice could achieve the former as long as their Spirit Power was high enough or they had mastered spells such as detection magic, though their sensing range might not be as great.
The latter, however, could practically serve as a Treasure Detector.
As long as it recorded an energy fluctuation, it could find similarly—or approximately—high-energy items.
When used to search for treasures, it was simply too useful!
The way Sunan looked at Amy immediately changed, as though he were looking at some precious treasure.
He had already been considering taking Amy back to Blackstone City with him, but now he was even more determined.
With Amy around, whether he was searching for Magical Items or exploring Wizard Inheritances in the future, things would undoubtedly become much more convenient.
Amy did not yet know that someone was already setting his sights on her. Having successfully recovered her master's belongings, she was overjoyed and eagerly urged Sunan to find the God Blood Amber.
Steadying himself, Sunan left the basement and bent down through the opening.
The instant his body passed through it, two gleaming longswords struck from both sides, one aimed at his neck and the other at his heart.
