Blood Demon Talismans use demonic-beast blood and cinnabar to condense a demonic beast's form into a reusable combat talisman 29 30 49.

Blood Bone Corpses

Blood Bone Peak cultivators can refine themselves or others into Blood Bone Corpses—extremely resilient corpses with formidable physical power and defense 87 113 135.

• The Sect Master employed a skeletal Blood Bone Corpse form in battle against the Wuji Ghost Mother 87.

Recruitment and Control

The sect replenished losses through coercive recruitment after its war with the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect 52 53.

History

Early structure and internal brutality

The Blood Demon Sect operated from Blackwood Cliff through Blood Bone, Blood Fiend, and Blood Soul Peaks. Its Hidden Scripture Pavilion depended on low-ranking disciples compelled to copy texts and rune patterns under threat of execution 1.

Menial Disciples were treated as expendable. Wu Hai openly exploited this culture when he lured fellow menial disciples away, drained their blood with tentacles, and left them as dried skins to improve his own cultivation 8. Ordinary murders within the sect were commonly minimized, but Wu Hai's later identification as a Thousand Hands Sect spy prompted an official investigation into possible infiltrators 11.

War with the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect

The Flowing Cloud Sword Sect launched a major assault while the Blood Demon Sect Master was believed to be in death seclusion. The Sect Master forced his way out, driving the attackers to retreat before ordering the sect to assess casualties, fortify its positions, and recover Blood Talisman Masters taken into the Demon Vein Death Zone 37.

With the sect under pressure from the Sword Sect, hostile outside forces, and Demon Cultivators in the Demon Vein Desolate Land, the Sect Master dispersed disciples below the fifth grade of the Meridian Condensing Realm into the mortal world. Their “antidote” for the Bone-Gnawing Pill carried a three-year deadline: those who did not return would die 38.

The conflict caused severe attrition among elders, disciples, and laborers. The sect subsequently abducted civilians and cultivators to restore its numbers 52 53.

Ghostly-creature crisis

Ghostly creatures became a major threat to the sect's territory and personnel. Their infiltration included possessed disciples and the systematic killing of Blood Talisman Masters, whose organs were hollowed out 64 104.

To counter this threat, the sect increased Blood Demon Talisman production and considered rapprochement with the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect. It also entered a temporary arrangement with Demon Cultivators, sacrificing several Blood Talisman Masters and hundreds of Blood Soul Peak disciples in exchange for an alliance against the ghostly threat 70 76 78.

The Wuji Ghost Mother later infiltrated the Demon Vein Desolate Land during the Qilian Marketplace gathering. The ensuing disaster killed the Blood Fiend Peak Master, devastated the sect's Blood Talisman Masters, and caused more than a thousand casualties 94 95 104.

Purges and succession struggles

Following the crisis, the Blood Soul Peak Master and Elder Wei began purging Blood Bone Peak and Blood Fiend Peak while targeting alleged Demon Cultivator collaborators 114. The Demon Cultivators living in the Demon Vein Desolate Land were subsequently exterminated 115.

The Blood Soul Peak Master consolidated control over the weakened sect, but her rule was challenged during a Flowing Cloud Sword Sect invasion. Lin Fan suppressed her with his Divine Soul power, after which he covertly maintained a Wuji Ghost Mother-controlled “Blood Demon Sect Master” as the sect's public leader 120 122.

After the Sect Master and a Ghost Cultivator perished together, Lin Fan openly claimed leadership. The remaining Peak Masters, led by Xue Taozi, accepted him as the new Sect Master 147.

Later instability

Under Lin Fan, the Blood Demon Sect attacked the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect and captured hundreds of its disciples after a major victory 148. Yet its leadership remained vulnerable: Thousand Hand Demonic Sect spy Xue Yunzi later exploited a leadership vacuum to briefly seize control before Lin Fan eliminated him and purged the sect's remaining Thousand Hand influence 160.

A remnant Ghost King Sect cultivator then attacked the sect, causing surviving disciples to faint while their flesh and blood essence were drawn into blood clouds 161. Soon afterward, a bizarre altar appeared above Blackwood Cliff and petrified the sect's elders and disciples 163.

• Flowing Cloud Sword Sect — Long-standing rival that declared war on the Blood Demon Sect; both sides later considered limited cooperation against ghostly creatures before the conflict resumed in invasions and counterattacks 37 76 120 148.
