Background

Sun Wukong was born from Nuwa's Five-Colored Stone on Flower-Fruit Mountain and later studied under Patriarch Bodhi. His unusual origins, innate Merit and Destiny, and role as a prospective protagonist of the Buddhist Calamity made his growth exceptionally rapid, but also left his original path constrained by fate. 6 35 165

His path changes after becoming Wu Feng's first General Store customer. He trades equipment for 1,000 Exchange Points to read Journey to the West, where he discovers that his life—including his rebellion against Heaven and eventual pilgrimage—had been arranged by Immortals and Buddhas. He resolves that he will not allow anyone to manipulate him. 3 6 7
