Background / History
Li Pingan is Li Yuan and Xue Ning’s son. As a child, he practiced with a wooden saber and proudly declared that he was learning the “strongest saber technique under heaven.” He was sent away from his family to train, tearfully parting from his parents and relatives. 126 130
Under Gu Xuejian’s instruction in Divine Wood Hall, Li Pingan’s Innate Shadow Blood and Willow Return Technique made his progress extraordinarily rapid. By fourteen, he had reached seventh rank and independently created the rudiments of a secret technique. Li Yuan deliberately defeated him repeatedly using only seventh-rank strength, attempting to temper his son’s arrogance and teach him the gap between raw talent and true mastery. 152 153
Li Pingan later became a prominent Divine Wood Hall martial artist, hunting Lotus Cult members and completing missions against their gatherings. He rose to fifth rank, became known as the Little Hall Master, and married Liu Liuxue along with other wives, fathering children. 176 182 183
After reuniting with Li Yuan and learning that Xue Ning was alive, he relocated his immediate family to Yunshan Road. When Li Yuan was later believed dead, Li Pingan left his wives and children behind to seek greater strength, eventually studying under Su Mu Shen and entering the Third Rank. 183 220 253
He later entered the East Sea Immortal Domain, became an Elder of Tai Xuan Sect’s Wood Xuan Gate, and emerged as the outsider faction’s leader. His ability to deploy independent Third-Rank clones made him strategically indispensable in Ancient Hall exploration. 259 260 283
Appearance
As a youth, Li Pingan was a vigorous, domineering young man with black hair and the bloodstained presence of a frequent combatant. In later years, he wore a dark robe patterned with green wood; white streaked his temples, sparse stubble covered his chin, and his eyes became deep and sharply defined. 176 259
- Carries a long saber on his back. 183 253
- His white temples became a defining feature by his time as Elder Li. 259
- Retained a powerful, energetic bearing even after maturing. 176 259
Personality
Li Pingan is intensely proud, competitive, and battle-hungry. He calls himself the “Number One Saber Under Heaven,” seeks out powerful opponents, and treats defeat as an incentive to improve rather than a reason to withdraw. 176 214 286
His arrogance is genuine, but not entirely careless. He claims that his domineering demeanor is a “mask” and that he remains cautious toward enemies; his decision to report the unexplained sensation of being watched also shows that he does not ignore threats he cannot understand. 176
He was once an emotional child prone to tears, but adulthood made him more restrained and responsible. As an Elder, he carries the burden of representing the outsider faction and protecting his family, though Xiao Sheng notes that this maturity has greatly changed his former personality. 130 259

Clone Manifestation
After entering Third Rank, Li Pingan could create combat-capable clones with independent Third-Rank realm force. 259 260
- Created ten Third-Rank clones to deter multiple Fourth-Rank enemies. 259
- Normally could create only one clone capable of using realm force comfortably; two were difficult and three were his limit. 259
- Forcing out ten clones caused extreme bodily pain and strain. 259
- His clone ability made him a prized asset in Tai Xuan Sect’s Ancient Hall expeditions. 260 283
Combat Instinct and Perception
