Background / History
Sun Wukong first enters Lu Chen’s world as an External Incarnation awarded for Lu Chen completing his first main quest. He identifies himself as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven rather than the Victorious Fighting Buddha, evaluates the world as inferior to the Primordial World, and agrees to follow Lu Chen in exchange for the chance to experience a new world and fight freely. 194
His first major assignment is the Forsaken Fierce Beast crisis. After surveying the Boundless Sea with his Fiery Eyes Golden Gaze, he proposes destroying the more than one hundred beast-race lairs in a single day. The resulting killing spree weakens the seal over outer-realm passages in the sea, a consequence for which he is visibly embarrassed. 195 210
While still a Great Emperor, Wukong saves Lu Chen from Su Zhetian’s attack and fights the cross-realm Ancient Ancestor until the latter retreats under heavenly backlash. After Su Zhetian falls to Great Emperor Realm, Wukong uses the Boundless Myriad Races Bow to kill him across the spatial divide. 199 200
Wukong later obtains the Chaos Demon Ape Essence Blood from the Nether Giant Ape. The blood restores his original power, removes his bloodline limitations, and enables his origins to revert to a primal state. 251 277
A Space Key ultimately allows Wukong’s true form to contact and descend from the Primordial World. Before leaving, he openly disrupts Tathagata’s sermon at the Great Thunderclap Temple, repudiates the title of Victorious Fighting Buddha, and threatens Tathagata’s authority. His true form then merges with his External Incarnation despite the local Heavenly Dao’s suppression. 327 328

Personality
Sun Wukong is restless, blunt, irreverent, and intensely battle-driven. He repeatedly complains when opponents flee or when he has been forced to remain idle, and he views dangerous enemies as opportunities to “stretch his limbs.” 199 638 912
His defiance is directed especially toward imposed authority. He rejects the Buddhist title assigned to him, derides Tathagata’s teachings, and refuses to submit quietly to a world’s Heavenly Dao. 328 353
Despite his unruly nature, he is deeply loyal to Lu Chen and his companions. He abandons or hastens his own battles to protect Lu Chen, works readily with Yang Jian and Nezha, and responds fiercely when Borderless suffers losses. 222 313 590
