Background / History

Creation

Fang Xiu transformed the Spirit Realm into the Mountain Sea World by merging its barrier with the Necro Tree. Using the Spirit Seed fruit and Necro Tree’s power, he altered animal souls into intelligent beings, including the bird-headed, human-bodied Feather People and the Mermen. 58

The newly awakened Feather People uncovered the ruins of Feather Country, including murals, a monumental stone tablet, and the Feather Transformation Scripture. The Mermen discovered an ancient underwater palace among coral reefs, where a female Merman awakened the power of a luminous pearl. 58

Early development

The world initially held a single major island and mountain peak. The island steadily rose from the seabed, gradually expanding toward the formation of a continent. Time moved faster within the world: less than a month outside corresponded to more than half a year inside. 64

The Feather People rebuilt Feather Country on the site of their ancestral ruins, while the Mermen began restoring their underwater civilization. Fang Xiu also established Nether Capital at the world’s sunless edge, populated it with sentient transformed animals, and appointed Black煞 as its ruler. 64 65

By this period, intelligent races had begun developing independently. Red Flame became King of Feather Country, while the Mermen Female Lord restored the Dragon Palace’s formations and restrictions. Demons and spirit beasts also began founding settlements and kingdoms across the land and sea. 86

Cultivation era and outside contact

As more Qi Refiners emerged, the Mountain Sea World’s cultivation system developed new methods and approached higher-stage breakthroughs. Fang Xiu regarded the arrival of outside cultivators as a means of accelerating this process; corresponding ruins, inheritances, spirit medicines, strange beasts, and Magic Treasures would emerge alongside advances in cultivation. 93

The world’s rules underwent a major revision in the Foundation Establishment Era. Kun assimilated into the world’s rule structure, while rare beasts began to be born with innate Divine Powers, spirit patterns, and restrictions. Ancient ruins appeared throughout mountains and seabeds, carrying cultivation methods, artifacts, talismans, and alchemical knowledge. 111 112

Explorers from the present world entered in increasing numbers to seek techniques, relics, resources, and permanent footholds. Within ten Mountain Sea World years, demon races had risen in the South Continent, human city-states and an early dynasty had appeared in the East Continent, and aquatic races had expanded beyond the South Sea Mermen Country. 116 119

Transformation into a real world

Following the completion of its main structure, the Mountain Sea World gained the basis of a true realm and required a proper Space Teleportation Gate for travel after its connection to the present world changed. Nether Capital Immortal Island became a major transit hub between worlds. 216

The integration of World Origin ultimately transformed the realm’s previously incomplete framework. Seabeds, mountains, plains, valleys, volcanoes, gravity, and life were derived within it; foreign divine laws were adapted into its own systems, including the Great Dao of Water, Heavenly Punishment, and Merit and Fortune. 403
