The Broken Fang Clan was the poorest of the five great clans.
Its territory lay on the edge of the Misty Coast, a barren wasteland with scarce resources and no notable produce. Even among the Dark Mountains, where conditions were poor overall, it was a place of "barren hills and harsh lands." But living in such an environment for generations had made the Broken Fang gnolls tough as nails.
They were too stubborn to get along with the other clans, and guarding the sacred grounds had given them a sense of "superiority."
