Amot's death marked the beginning of the Bloodscar Clan's destruction tonight, but under the circumstances, the death of one mere chieftain couldn't shake the fighting spirit of the chaotic gnolls in Mossy Valley.
The Hunting Lord's divine realm was spreading into the material world through a process of "reverse erosion." Once it had fully opened, the gnolls here would become the first of its destructive servants to fall into the Warp. That meant there was no other way forward: they had to kill every one of these gnolls, who had effectively gone mad.
But before dealing with the maddened gnolls, there was a more pressing problem: the Hunting Lord's divine realm was spreading far faster than expected.
Though Lord Payen's sacred lance, Eternal Silence, could still shield the godslayers' minds on this increasingly murky battlefield and lead them in cutting down the Hunting Wraiths lunging at them, even when the other gods' servants called upon the power of their deities to project their might here, they still couldn't stop the blood-red territory from expanding.
They were getting farther and farther from the shrine at the center of the divine realm. It wasn't that they were retreating; the power of the Warp was twisting the spatial laws of this part of the material world, stretching the distance between them.
The players couldn't kill the Hunting Wraiths as quickly as those creatures were resurrecting in the divine realm.
On the earth, so red it seemed ready to drip blood, the land had already begun to be corrupted by the Hunting Lord's power. Matter was being assimilated. Just as the stones of the mortal world could become burning-metal ore under the Warp's influence, so too was the earth in the valley of the Evil God's Forbidden Land undergoing the same transformation.
