In the desert.

Gu Qingshan hovered in midair, making a series of hand seals toward the array plate.

Now and then, light flared from the plate, turning into streaks that fell into the vast desert below.

Xiao Xi watched for a while, then couldn't help saying, "We need to hurry. By now, quite a few of the prophetic verses have probably been deciphered."

"I know," Gu Qingshan said.

Xiao Xi said, "But that scorpion is powerful. If it keeps guarding the maze entrance, with our current strength, we'll probably be in for a fierce battle."

"Mm, I know," Gu Qingshan said.

He shifted to another spot and continued setting up the array.

Xiao Xi said anxiously, "The monsters in the Abyss of Sin are basically all on his level, and some are even stronger. With such a force guarding it, nobody can enter the maze and retrieve the three divine artifacts."

"I know that too," Gu Qingshan said.
