It sounded harsh, but who knew how many people never even got the chance to be treated harshly? Here, the influence of a sect master's status was on full display.
After quickly exchanging his tokens, Xu Yi headed for one of the exchange rooms. It was an open space with low, semicircular walls built on either side, offering the barest semblance of privacy.
The exchange device was much like the one he'd seen in the Tianxia Association's main hall. Xu Yi operated it with practiced ease, and the light on the screen flowed past one section at a time. Soon, he reached the classics section and found the Jiachen Page. It was empty.
"What's going on? Did that drunkard trick me? No, there'd be no point."
Xu Yi was utterly puzzled. Then, as an idea struck him, he understood: most likely, the rightful claimant hadn't arrived yet, so the page hadn't been unlocked. That way, no one could stumble upon the good stuff and redeem it by mistake.
Once he'd figured that out, Xu Yi deliberately slowed his movements, flipping through the pages one by one as if the dazzling display had left him dazzled.
In truth, the treasures in this First-level Armory didn't seem much better than the Tianxia Association's stock, in his eyes. Only a few Five Elements Spirit Stones were particularly valuable.
Xu Yi had his eye on two: a Fire Element Spirit Stone and a Water element Spirit Stone. There was no Wind element Spirit Stone, and he had no use for wood or earth stones for the time being.
He wanted the Water Spirit Stone to feed the Ice Fire Rabbit. As for the Fire Element Spirit Stone, he wanted to take his chances and use it to familiarize himself with the Beginner Fire Element
