Lei Long was a Spirit Transmutation level expert, with an exceptionally profound cultivation base. His Spiritual Force was especially formidable, no weaker than that of any Mid Spirit Transmutation stage expert. The defenders in Sky City consisted of humans and the Winged Person Race. Yet contrary to what one might expect of a city supposedly led by the Winged Person Race, humans made up the vast majority of its defenders.

Across the entire Light Domain, there were only a million Winged Persons, divided among the various kings and serving under them. The Twin Kings of Radiance were the strongest and commanded the largest number of their people. King of Dawn, by contrast, was relatively weak, with just over twenty thousand Winged Persons, most of whom were stationed in Dawn Main City.

Thus, the Winged Person Race in Sky City, led by Hirus, numbered a mere five hundred. That was only because Hirus was King of Dawn's younger brother. Yet this airborne fortress, capable of hovering and flying, housed hundreds of thousands of people.

Though most of those hundreds of thousands were logistical personnel, the number of human elite troops with respectable strength still exceeded thirty thousand.

For a small population to rule over a larger one, it took more than outstanding individual strength; ensuring the loyalty and fearlessness of their subjects was even more important. To keep humans loyal, the Winged Person Race had chosen to educate them into ignorance and brainwash them with faith.
