Joining the King of Judgment

A day later, in the courtyard of the Flying Boat, beside a babbling stream, they sat around a stone table and chairs.

Lei Dong was enjoying some rare Spirit Tea with Mei'er, the Succubus Woman, and Karina, the King of Judgment. Gently blowing the tea leaves aside, he took a slow sip and said calmly, "So you are the King of Judgment, renowned throughout the Light Domain for your hatred of evil and your fairness and integrity. I've long admired your reputation. Forgive my lack of manners."

After a day of rest and recuperation, the two women had washed away some of the disheveled look they'd worn before and changed into clean clothes. They looked much more presentable now.

Tea drinking was said to have originated with the Immortal Race. It had once been quite popular among the Winged God Clan, too. But later, the ancestors of the Winged God Clan had set out to purge their culture of Immortal influences, and the clan gradually abandoned and forgot such practices. Karina, however, knew a thing or two about tea. It was an activity that could brush away agitation, cleanse the heart, and calm the mind.

"Are you not curious why I, the King of Judgment of the Bright Holy Domain, am here?" Karina's clear eyes, touched with stubbornness, rested quietly on Lei Dong.

"I'm a little curious, but this is your private business. I have no intention of prying," Lei Dong replied calmly. As the saying went, a man without desires stood firm. He did hope to befriend the King of Judgment, but that didn't mean he couldn't get by without her. Nor was she so indispensable that he couldn't do without her.
