The Situation Was Escalating Out of Control

A flash of red flickered in his eyes.

Ivankov leaned back and easily dodged Luffy's attack. Then a Crimson Dog Tooth struck the other man's swollen chest. The unimaginable pain came and went in an instant, sending Luffy flying.

He bounced along the ground, leaving spots of blood in his wake, before the rubble buried him.

"Luffy!"

Zoro, Sanji, and the others didn't just stand by. They all gave everything they had and unleashed their strongest attacks.

Baccarat's long wine-red hair whipped wildly as she gripped Hades and swung. A column of purple-pink explosions surged forward, rupturing the air wherever it went and filling the area with the smoke and fire of destruction.

Hades (Pyrobloin) couldn't unleash Great Swordsman slashes like Napoleon, but it could be shaped into all sorts of explosive attacks. Its specialty, though, was close-range blasts, which dealt greater damage.

Like the strike that had just hit Marco: it had been an explosion caused by an impact at point-blank range, so even Marco had been caught off guard and hurt.

Even so,

an attack from a distance like Explosive Blade wasn't something an ordinary person could withstand.

Luckily, this was the current era, and they all had Armament Haki and Iron Body to protect them. If this had happened at this point in the original story, they would probably have been dead already.
