Violent explosions filled Gyoncorde Plaza as two figures repeatedly vanished and collided. All around them, large groups of fish-men had split into factions, shouting threats at the Straw Hat Pirates.

Even though their adventure had begun two years earlier, the Straw Hat Crew's journey had changed not at all.

After arriving on Fish-Man Island, Luffy and his companions had clashed with Hody Jones of the New Fish-Man Pirates.

As captain of the New Fish-Man Pirates, Hody Jones was a great white shark fish-man who idolized Arlong.

He had been born in Fish-Man Island's most lawless district, Fish-Man District. Although he had never suffered persecution at the hands of humans, everything around him told him that humans were an inferior race and an evil presence.

Over time, growing up in that environment made Hody Jones hate humans and become a fish-man supremacist.

Not long after the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Fish-Man Island, Hody Jones's forces discovered them. And since his idol, Arlong, had been defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates in East Blue, that alone was enough for the two sides to take an instant dislike to each other.

They'd clashed like fire and thunder from the start.

The Straw Hat Pirates had also met all the people they were supposed to meet over the past few days.

They'd become friends with Shirahoshi, for example, and met the fortune-teller Shyarly and King Neptune.

What was happening now was Hody Jones's attempt to overthrow Neptune and seize control of all Fish-Man Island.

In his eyes, Neptune was a traitor to the fish-men, just like Queen Otohime.

She had spent years preaching the virtues of humans and advocating peaceful coexistence.

That was unforgivable.

And so they'd ended up fighting!
