"How could this happen!"
Everyone was in despair.
Betty and the others looked utterly powerless and despondent.
This ability was similar to Gild Tesoro's. Just by issuing a command, he could make people obey.
Was this a basic ability of a god?
It was far too powerful, utterly impossible to defend against.
"Damn it."
Kaido and Blackbeard, at the head of the group, struggled for a while, their eyes bloodshot, but in the end they had no choice but to accept reality.
If they couldn't even control their own bodies, how could they strike back or fight for their freedom?
The most terrifying part was that their opponent even knew what they were thinking. They had no secrets, inside or out—more exposed than if they'd been stripped naked.
"What do you want?"
Blackbeard and Kaido panicked.
D was moving sideways toward them, and no matter how you looked at it, he seemed up to no good.
"Experimental subjects who resist their creator are defective. So this god will erase your thoughts and turn you into puppets who do nothing but obey."
D's answer was calm, but it chilled Kaido and Blackbeard to the bone.
"Stay back!"
"Get away from me!"
"What kind of creator are you talking about? I'm Kaido of the Beasts!"
Terror.
Despair.
The two struggled desperately. That brief wait was worse than any torture in the world.
"No~!"
D reached out and placed a hand on each of their foreheads. A strange, powerful force began to spread, swiftly altering their thoughts. Slowly, the light in Blackbeard and Kaido's eyes began to fade.
In the end, not a trace of it remained.
They were still Blackbeard and Kaido, no different from before. They had their memories and could think, but they no longer had any emotions or desires.
