Fu Qian's answer clearly caught Nepheli off guard once again, and for a moment, she fell silent.
"So, in your opinion, Kanna Kisaragi's sudden advancement to the Transcendent level had little to do with the Miracle Potion?"
Still, she seemed quite tactful and didn't press him on whose request it was.
"Would you rather it had something to do with it, or not?"
Even so, Fu Qian didn't rush to answer. Instead, he smiled and asked her in return.
Speaking to a divine emissary like that seemed like asking for trouble.
But in Fu Qian's eyes, this sudden conversation only appeared peaceful. Beneath the surface, it was already rife with undercurrents.
As a divine emissary who had once spied on the two of them, she had now shown up without warning and even taken the initiative to expose his identity. She certainly knew how to make a dramatic entrance.
No matter how gentle her manner seemed, politeness was meaningless.

"Looks like you've already guessed. I did lead the testing of the Miracle Potion. Carlos was merely carrying it out."
So the dull test had actually been the work of a Second Order divine emissary?
That was a pretty halfhearted opening!
Sawada, Asao Sakura, Carlos, Nepheli... Did this mean he'd beaten the underlings, only for their superiors to come after him? Was he steadily climbing the ranks?
Fu Qian mused to himself, quite pleased.
"If that's the case, I'll have to revise my earlier assessment. This test was terribly dull and uninteresting, especially for something designed by a divine emissary."
