"I don't believe Zed would have killed my father while in his right mind. He knew every secret technique I knew. If he needed to kill my father to gain power, he had plenty of other ways to do it. There was no need to bring such infamy upon himself."

Shen explained the main reason for his suspicion.

There were simply too many ways to gain power within the Kinkou Order! If Zed had truly wanted to act immorally, the best way wouldn't have been to kill his own master and seize the Kinkou Order's treasures. There were other options.

He could have taken the Vastayans' magic. Most Ionian people wouldn't care about the Kinkou Order, so no one would have objected to him taking the Vastayans' power. In fact, they would have praised Zed for it.
