It was simply that the old chef had left, and his cheap replacement couldn't recreate the original flavor. So the restaurant would go under.

Things like that were common enough on Earth. He just hadn't expected to see such a down-to-earth reality in this magical world, too.

Shen was enjoying his meal. He was the one who hadn't noticed the difference, and Akali was the same.

But just then, a figure wearing a bamboo hat suddenly appeared, leaving Shen somewhat helpless.

He'd finally managed to come out in the open to travel and enjoy a meal, only to keep getting interrupted. It was frustrating.

But he still had to deal with matters concerning the Kinkou Order, so he nodded to Li Ke and Akali.

"Um, Li Ke, Akali, I have to take care of something involving the Kinkou Order..."

Akali stood up without a moment's hesitation.

"I'm coming with you!"

Akali was very annoyed. The news that she and Li Ke were together had been out for ages, yet her mother still hadn't come looking for her. She felt anxious and irritated, so she was only following Shen to see if there was any news about her mother.

Shen could tell what Akali was thinking, but for a moment he didn't know how to tell her that her mother, Meimu, simply didn't care about her at all.

"All right. You two go ahead. I'll keep thinking about how to improve the seasoning on this barbecue."

Li Ke spoke nonchalantly. Although Akali had left the Kinkou Order, Shen's occasional instruction over the past few days, along with his example in all sorts of things, made one thing clear.

Shen simply didn't care that Akali had left the Kinkou Order. Or perhaps this, too, was part of the Order's legacy. Shen still
