Even though Thanos was an Eternal Titan, even though his body was tougher than that of many Kryptonians, and even though his resistance to energy and magic was far stronger than a Kryptonian's, none of that guaranteed he would survive Thor's current assault.
As time passed, Thanos's injuries grew increasingly severe. Even though he had weathered countless battles, even though he had unleashed his full combat power without holding anything back, Thanos still failed to find a way to break the situation.
But Thanos knew he could not let this continue. Otherwise, what awaited him would not merely be defeat, but very possibly death.
With a bang, Thanos was sent flying once again. One hand braced against his injured chest, his gaze suddenly shifted. He glanced at his wrist, then at the dark clouds in the sky that had condensed and refused to disperse.
