Recruitment and Competition

History

Southern Border Hegemon

The Golden Sun Sect ruled a vast Southern Border territory of more than 500 countries. Its core region near the mountain gate was directly controlled, while more distant forces were permitted to operate in exchange for allegiance and tribute. 131

Its heritage included multiple high-level cultivation methods. The sect had previously produced numerous Nascent Soul cultivators, and its Scripture Pavilion contained many inheritances capable of reaching Nascent Soul. 269

Bi Changsheng joined through a Golden Sun Ascension Token in pursuit of an Earth Immortal inheritance beyond the Golden Core Realm. He became an Inner Sect disciple, later won access to a complete inheritance through the Inner Sect Grand Competition, and was recognized as the sect's eighth True Disciple after reaching Golden Core. 142 224 276

War Against the Blood God Sect

The Golden Sun Sect allied with the Purple Cloud Sect against the Blood God Sect. During the conflict, it fielded multiple Golden Core-led contingents and deployed its Swords of Judgment. 319 322 359

After the Blood God Sect recaptured territory and seized one-tenth of Golden Sun Sect and Purple Cloud Sect lands, the Golden Sun Sect mobilized six teams for a major counterattack. Bi Changsheng led one team, while the Sect Master, major Hall Masters, and other senior figures led the remaining forces. 359

The war ultimately ended with the allied forces breaking the Blood God Sect's mountain-guarding formation. The Blood God Sect's senior officials were executed, though Xue Li and two Nascent Soul experts initially escaped. 427 430

Age of Dharma Decline Reforms

After the Heaven and Earth Dragon Vein was severed and spiritual energy began rapidly dissipating, Bi Changsheng ordered the sect to:

• Collect Spirit Stones and Spirit Materials as a long-term foundation.
• Make martial arts cultivation compulsory and increasingly prioritize it over immortal cultivation. 548 603

Within six months, the sect amassed substantial resources, while Golden Core cultivators such as Golden Sun Son and Ji Wenlin advanced from no martial cultivation to the Aperture Opening Realm. 606

Following a rebellion by cultivators and rival forces, Bi Changsheng annihilated more than a hundred Golden Core rebels at the mountain gate. The sect then eradicated rebellious factions and forces that had ignored its summons. 614 615

Golden Sun Empire

Bi Changsheng reorganized major states near the mountain gate into the Golden Sun Empire, which occupied one-third of the sect's territory. The empire was intended to manage ordinary people and Martial Artists during the Age of Dharma Decline, while the Golden Sun Sect remained the dominant institution. 615

• Most Outer Sect disciples, except those with top-grade Spiritual Roots, were dispersed into positions within the empire. 615
• Foundation Establishment and Golden Core cultivators could voluntarily take important imperial posts. 615

Decline and Destruction

For the first two thousand years of the Age of Dharma Decline, the sect and empire cooperated closely. Their relationship deteriorated as sect cultivators monopolized resources and looked down on the empire's Martial Artists. 621

By the 3,400th year, the mountain-protecting formation could sustain fewer Golden Core cultivators, while the empire had developed many Aperture Opening Martial Artists. A prolonged war followed. 621

The decisive shift came when the empire developed Bloodline Martial Artists by transplanting Demonic Beast bloodlines. These warriors could rival Golden Core cultivators, eventually exhausting the sect's formation and spiritual pool. The Golden Sun Sect was destroyed, with only a handful of disciples escaping into hiding. 621

Reconstitution

After spiritual energy began recovering, surviving disciples rebuilt the sect from an inconspicuous mountain village within the Golden Sun Empire. By then, the sect had passed through three generations of inheritance and retained only incomplete heritage. 622 624

Bi Changsheng returned after thousands of years, confirmed his identity as the Old Ancestor, restored the sect's inheritance, and guided Sect Master Xu Haomiao and the surviving leadership. 621 624

When the Golden Sun Empire attacked the rebuilt sect, Bi Changsheng intervened and defeated Yuan Chengzhou's forces, saving the remaining disciples. 622 623
