Cultivation and Intelligence

Soul Beasts cultivate over long periods while following a harsh survival system in which the strong prey on the weak. Their bloodline, innate abilities, and capacity to survive tribulations determine how far they can advance. 4 11

Heavenly Tribulations

Ordinary Soul Beasts generally face Heavenly Tribulation after reaching one hundred thousand years, with each hundred-thousand-year threshold posing a life-or-death danger. This makes the continued growth of high-level Soul Beasts exceptionally difficult. 11 124

The Calamity Tribulation Vine is an abnormal case: it must survive lightning tribulation upon reaching one thousand years and at every subsequent thousand-year threshold. 12

Human Transformation

A hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast may assume human form without being restricted to the appearance of its original species. Its chosen appearance is usually influenced by its bloodline; high-level bloodlines generally produce attractive human forms. 17

Taking human form is a major choice. Every hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast must either transform and pursue a human path or remain a Soul Beast and continue cultivating. 171

A Soul Beast's bloodline determines much of its potential, physical strength, and inherited abilities. True Dragon bloodlines, Golden bloodlines, and emperor-class plant bloodlines are treated as particularly valuable. 149 214

Spiritual Power

Mental-attribute Soul Beasts are uncommon, even among those below ten thousand years of cultivation. Their abilities may provide detection, mental attacks, object manipulation, or enhanced perception. 19 23

Fierce Beast Suppression

High-level Fierce Beasts can overwhelm weaker Soul Beasts through released aura alone. The Ice Empress can suppress ten-thousand-year Soul Beasts by limiting her pressure, while her full Fierce Beast aura renders weaker Cyclopes incapable of resistance. 19 22

Relationship with Humans

Traditional Soul Ring Hunting

Soul Masters traditionally obtain Soul Rings by killing Soul Beasts. The resulting Soul Ring is described as a partial energy remnant left after the Soul Beast's death, through which a Martial Soul activates part of the Soul Beast's former abilities as Soul Skills. 68

This practice has made Soul Beast hunting dangerous for Soul Masters and devastating for Soul Beast populations, particularly in major habitats such as the Star Dou Great Forest. 147 164
