Three centuries before the story, the Meng ancestors moved their entire lineage to Xinghua Village and developed Meng Family Wine through a secret recipe. The wine enabled the family to accumulate cultivation resources and become one of the village’s dominant lineages. 1

Before gaining a formal rank, the family relied heavily on spirit-plant cultivation and its other labor-intensive businesses. Only a small portion of the spirit-herb land between Xinghua Village and Qingyang County Town belonged to the Mengs, while most was controlled by the county’s established Ninth-Rank families. 1

Its rise began with Meng Haoran’s discovery of mutated Second-Tier Six-Pattern Wheat in the family’s fields. The family preserved the crop for seed stock, purchased additional Spirit Plant Soil, and secretly sold the wheat through Gray Robe Jiang Lao’s Black Market channels to accumulate Foundation Establishment resources. 3 29 123

The discovery, cultivation, and discreet sale of Six-Pattern Wheat transformed the family’s finances. Together with talisman sales and Spirit Beast breeding, these industries brought it close to 200,000 Spirit Stones in monthly income and funded Meng Jingshan’s Foundation Establishment attempt. 62

Family Competition and Promotion

Meng Haoran won Qingyang County’s family competition after exposing Yang Shaoyuan’s use of a Qi Replenishing Pill. Meng Jingshan’s Foundation Establishment breakthrough and the family’s championship brought tax exemption to Xinghua Village, new business partners, and eventually promotion to Ninth Rank. 81 83 144

Alliance Against the Black Mountain Bandits

The Mengs brought the Lin and Chen Families into an alliance against the Black Mountain Bandits, who had caused severe losses to the three families a decade earlier. The joint operation destroyed the bandits and allowed Meng Haoran to avenge his father. 90 95

Ruin Minor World Conflict

In the Mysterious Earth Spirit Race Ruin Minor World, Wang Renqi and Yang Shoushen attempted to undermine the Meng Family’s mission. Meng Haoran trapped both patriarchs within the collapsing minor world, removing the family’s most dangerous local opponents and accelerating its rise. 328 352

Qingyang–Chiyang Expansion

After securing Spirit Stone Mine interests and defeating rival families alongside the Wu Family, the Mengs expanded their trading network across Qingyang and Chiyang Counties. They helped establish the Jiang Family as Chiyang County Territory’s third ranked family and began extending influence beyond their original territory. 360 560

Qinghe Commandery City Entry

As an Eighth-Rank family, the Mengs sought to establish a permanent commercial presence in Qinghe Commandery City. Their trading hall rapidly sold down accumulated stock, earning within half a month profits equal to one-third of the combined profits from Qingyang and Chiyang County Territories. 645 684
